The Berkley Art Bash gets bigger and better...

Although the weather forecast was rain for Saturday, June 11th, the 10th Annual Berkley Art Bash saw sunny skies and no rain at all!  It was a fabulous day in downtown Berkley!  12 Mile Road was filled all day long with crowds of people enjoying the awesome selection of art by our 110 artists and our students artists.  A variety of musical performances and dancing by our youngsters entertained the crowds throughout the day.  A Delicious variety of food and treats were provided by our vendors and our Berkley restaurants, and bargains galore could be found at the sidewalk sales.  Henna tattoos, sand art, and an inflatable slide and moon bounce kept our young ones busy.  The Art Bash was bigger and better than ever and we appreciate everyone who joined us!  A HUGE thanks to April McCrumb, Art Bash Director and owner of catching fireflies and the yellow door art market.  We absolutely could not do this event without her!

City of Berkley:  

City Council for welcoming the Art Bash with open arms for a 10th year, allowing us to close 12 Mile Road, and supporting the 12 Mile businesses in their sidewalk sales;

Department of Public Works for ensuring the cleanliness of 12 Mile Rd. and the closing of the streets for the safety of our patrons;

Department of Public Safety for their all day presence at the Art Bash, and for providing the firetruck  and ambulance for the community to enjoy.

The Coffee Beanery Cafe for donating delicious coffee for our artists, vendors, sponsors and volunteers to enjoy.

 Jennifer McLenon - 2011 CruiseFest Winner

For many years the Berkley Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Berkley High School Digital Art students to design the front of our Annual CruiseFest t-shirt.  Each year we receive several entries with creative designs and it is very tough to choose a winner...but we must.  We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2011 contest...Jennifer McLenon, student of Kimberly DePaulis. In addition to receiving the honor of her design on the annual CruiseFest t-shirt she also received a $50 VISA gift card.  Congratulations to Jennifer and thank you to Miss DePaulis and all the students that participated.   All the artwork can viewed during the summer months at the Berkley Public Library in the teen room.

T-shirts will be available for purchase prior to CruiseFest in Berkley businesses and during the evening of  CruiseFest, Friday, August 19th on 12 Mile Road.  We hope you will Join us!

Berkley CruiseFest is on Friday, August 19, 2011.  We will be selling shirts prior to CruiseFest in business and the evening of the Annual Classic Car parade down 12 Mile Road.  We sell approximately 300 shirts to residents and visitors of Berkley.  It's a great way for your name to be worn around town (and the country)! 

Sponsorship opportunities are as follows: 

GOLD        $250

SILVER      $100

Gold and Silver Sponsors will include a company logo and name.  Gold Sponsors will be listed at the top of the t-shirt and will be larger than silver.  GOLD sponsors will get their logo on our web site during the month of August.

BRONZE    $50

FAMILY     $50

Bronze and Family will include the business or family name with no logo.

This full-color magazine will feature local community information, color photographs featuring Berkley and the surrounding area, and advertisements to showcase Berkley Chamber member businesses.  This new marketing venue will give Berkley area businesses a chance to really “Strut Their Stuff” in full color!
