Bagger Dave's was recognized for their commitment to service as well as their active role in the community.  Bagger Dave's supports community organizations and groups, from local sports teams to area schools.  They donate thousands of dollars each year to various non-profit organizations.  They are very active outside the restaurant and continually show their commitment to the Berkley community.  Bagger Dave's is a true hot spot and a wonderful addition to Berkley!

Karen Koerber is a life long resident of Berkley and owner of Farina's Banquet Center.  She is an active member of the community, serving on the DDA Board for the past two years and a Berkley Junior for four years.  Karen volunteers her time with Meals on Wheels as well as other Berkley Community organizations.  She sponsors two sports teams and many events throughout the year and hosts free senior dinners.  Karen truly loves all that Berkley has to offer and she will be the first to tell you how wonderful our city is!

Congratulations to both our winners. They truly make Berkley a better place to live, work, and play!

Berkley Chamber sponsors a FREE shopping trolley

 
 
Once again, the Berkley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Free shopping trolley for residents and visitors to enjoy prior to the holiday lights parade on Saturday, December 4th from 2-5 pm.  The trolley will make multiple stops along 12 Mile and Coolidge roads for three hours to allow riders to jump on and off and experience the shops and restaurants in downtown Berkley.  Riders will enjoy caroling and many holiday specials.

We would like to encourage businesses to take part in this wonderful day by decorating your business, playing holiday music, and offering treats, merchandise or food discounts. 

Exclusive to Chamber Members:  Tell us your holiday special on Saturday, December 4th and we will let all the trolley riders know as well as our Facebook and Twitter followers.

Pub Crawl 2010...fun had by all!

October 7th brought over 100 people to downtown Berkley to join in the Annual Pub Crawl. The weather was perfect and the featured appetizers, beverages, and company even better!  6 venues along 12 Mile, Coolidge and Woodward hosted our crawlers.  The Pub Crawl concluded with lucky participants winning some awesome door prizes.  It was a fun night for all!

Everyone was cruisin' in downtown Berkley

The Berkley CruiseFest committee did it again... they planned and executed a great day in downtown Berkley for residents and visitors to the area! Kicking off the day,  were businesses and vendors selling their wares, advertising their business, and giving free samples.  Classic cars and food were also not to be missed.  The evening started off with the annual Classic Car parade.  12 Mile was lined with chairs from Woodward to Greenfield to enjoy the 400 + cars that passed by.  The streets filled shortly after with music, dancing, and entertainment. Of course it wouldn't be CruiseFest without our Annual CruiseFest t-shirt, designed by BHS student Brad Roelandt. We were there all day selling away!  Thanks to our volunteers:  Eric Abrams, Scott Zuchlewski, and Debbie Baker for your help at the t-shirt booth, Armadillo for printing our t-shirts and of course our t-shirt sponsors.  We couldn't do it without your help:

A note of thanks

Although rain was predicted all week long we managed to escape it during our 9th Annual Berkley Art Bash!  It was a very hot sticky Saturday but the heat certainly didn't keep our guests away!  12 Mile Road was filled all day long with crowds of people enjoying the fabulous art, entertaining music, delicious food, great sidewalk sales, and fun kids activities.  The Art Bash was bigger and better than ever and we appreciate everyone who joined us!

Department of Public Safety for their all day presence at the Art Bash, and for providing the firetruck  for the community to enjoy.

The Coffee Beanery Cafe for providing delicious coffee for our artists and vendors to enjoy.

Our Volunteers that helped set up and close down the fair, guided artists into the fair, staffed the chamber tent, and took down signs. And to our teen volunteers that helped in the Chamber tent all day long selling tickets and water to our guests.

Our Chamber Members and Berkley businesses that opened their doors to our residents and guests and helped us make it another GREAT day in Berkley!

It's the 9th Annual Berkley Art Bash...don't miss it!

Chamber Members, don't forget we have pulled a permit for you to have a sidewalk sale in front of your business the day of Art Bash.  Take advantage of thousands of the people that will be walking by on June 12th!

If you are not a Chamber member and you wish to have a sidewalk sale you can pay a permit fee of $25 by June 1st or $30 after June 1st.  Please mail your check to the Berkley Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 72-1253, Berkley, MI 48072

Chamber members can also provide 200-300 of an item (coupon, trinket, etc.) and we will put it in our Chamber bags that we are giving away at our booth.  Please drop your item off to Catching Fireflies by June 1st.

Berkley CruiseFest...August 14th

Berkley CruiseFest is right around the corner...August 14th! The Berkley CruiseFest Committee along with the Chamber of Commerce are encouraging you to take part in this day long event. This is another opportunity to showcase your business to the thousands of people that attend the event each year!  Don't miss out!!

12 Mile Road will be closed from 9AM - 11PM between Wakefield and Tyler on Friday, August 14th. We are encouraging not only the 12  Mile businesses but the Woodward, Coolidge, 11 Mile, and Greenfield businesses to take part by bringing their business to 12 Mile.  The intent is simple...advertise, market, and promote your business to prospective customers.

Tri- Community Coalition Golf Outing

Join the Tri-Community Coalition for the 11th Annual Golf Classic on June 26th.

Funding from the event will support the Y.O.U. Youth Coalition. Enjoy a great day of golf at the beautiful Heather Highlands Golf Club in Holly, MI.  The event will include a 4-person scramble, lunch at the turn, steak dinner, and an awards reception following golf. Another awesome Cruisefest!!!!  The committee did an awesome job planning and organizing the event and it was great to see Downtown Berkley with crowds of people. Make sure to view the photo album to see pictures from Cruisefest 2008.
